We discuss this in detail via our mission and origin story pages, but ultimately we believe that the society wrongfully attempts to make people conform and be something they are not. This ability to alter people’s perceptions and morph their identities can directly lead to harmful outcomes. By stating that society’s mentality is broken, we hope to raise awareness that it is okay for people to be themselves and okay for people to not ‘fit in’.
WHY ARE YOU CALLED BROKEN MENTALITY?
HOW DO YOU DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE YOUR PRODUCTS?
One of our co-founders, james, is a designer by trade and is responsible for creating the designs, aesthetic and imagery that you see with BROKEN MENTALITY. Once we have designed the products, agreed on the releases and generally ironed out the details, we work directly with the manufacturer to produce mock ups and samples. Once we are happy with the quality of the print/embroidery/design, we save that product with the manufacturer. Products are then made to order and shipped directly from the manufacturer to the customer - this helps to lower the travel time and carbon footprint our orders.
WHAT IS THE SHIPPING PROCESS AND COST FOR YOUR PRODUCTS?
As products come directly from the manufacturer, the shipping time is 3-5 business days. This allows the manufacturer to fulfill the order, quality check the item and ship it directly to you. Additionally, we are committed to making sure that shipping costs are affordable for our customers, especially given that more orders means we are able to donate more to charities that truly make a difference. Our customers never pay more than £3.99 for shipping in the United Kingdom, and all orders over £65 have free shipping.
DO I ORDER DIRECTLY FROM YOUR WEBSITE?
Currently our website serves as a base for our product inventory and catalogue, as well as more information around our mission, origin story and pledge. When looking through and clicking on our products, you will be taken to our etsy store to complete your order. This allows us to work directly with the manufacturer to make your products to order. Additionally, you will find more images of our products, as well as the size guide, via each product listing on our Etsy store.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS POLICY?
As a company opposed to fast fashion and attempting to limit the transit miles of our items, we have a ‘zero returns’ policy except for exceptional circumstances. Additionally, given that our products are made to order and we donate a percentage of the profits to charity, we are unable to offer refunds on orders. Whilst we understand that this policy may upset potential customers, we hope that you understand how this aligns to our pledge. Should you be unhappy with an item, we encourage you to donate it to a friend or a local charity shop so that someone else may appreciate it.
